The 2022 General Election is over other than canvasing write-ins, dealing with any requests for recounts and making voting numbers official.
Let’s now look forward to welcoming new faces in our places of local, state and federal government as they prepare to take their seats in a few months.
Some have said this is one of the most important midterm elections our nation has faced. Local politics have a national impact and every vote counts.
Locally, citizens have campaigned and supported their candidates with passion and vigor, debating the issues important to us.
Our votes determine who we send to Washington, D.C., the state capital and our various local boards and offices. And, by understanding the “power of one” we know that individuals can make a significant difference. It is our civic duty as citizens to vote our conscience and select the leaders that will best represent us.
The past few years have been a harsh season with all the challenges we’ve faced, from Covid to the economy, inflation and division in our nation and communities.
Therefore, with new electors to be sworn in come January, it is vital to stay involved in your government. Participate in public meetings, write letters to the editor, meet with your local, state, and national officials to keep them accountable and to help make the American Dream a reality.
