Recently in the Hot Springs State Park, the fish feeders at the cooling ponds have been vandalized. Representative Meri Ann Rush said, “Friends of Hot Springs State Park and Legend Rock applied for a grant to install the fish feeders over five years ago. Since then, at least one fish feeder, if not all four of them, has been vandalized. Due to the recent vandalism that was discovered on October 2nd. We have taken them down and we are looking at ways to improve the security and hope to have them up and going again in the spring. Meanwhile, if people want to purchase little bags of fish food, they can stop by the Chamber of Commerce Visitor’s Center.”
Rush added, “If anybody sees any vandalism in the park or anything, we encourage people to contact the police department regarding it right away.
Rush also said, “The purpose of the Friends group is to benefit Hot Springs State Park and Legend Rock. Any donations can be spent locally rather than sent to the general fund.”
