New partner at accounting firm

Thermopolis certified accounts Koerwitz, Michel, Wright, and Associates has changed their name and added a new partner. Effective October 1, the accounting firm will be called Michel & Moline, CPAs. In the past year or so partners, Michael Wright and David Koerwitz have retired. 

Jacque Michel leads the firm and has been there for 37 years. Michel started on January 2, 1985. The company began in 1980. Michel said about her tenure on the job, “Every day is different. It’s been fun. It’s good fun work. And every day is something new. Love Thermopolis. Great community.”

New partner is Nick Moline, who grew up in Laramie and graduated high school in 2011. Moline enlisted in the Marine Corps and did four years there. After that, he and his wife Sash moved to Thermopolis. Sash’s maiden name is Daniels and is originally from Thermopolis. Moline worked in construction for Troy. 

Moline also has a BA in Accounting from Colorado State University and for the past five years, Moline worked at the Thermopolis accounting firm. During those five years, he studied for his CPA license. 

Regarding his new position, Moline said, “I’m responsible more. Now, I’m not just responsible for my work, but for my employees and the clients and make sure that everything’s clicking along how it should and keep up to date with all the changes that the IRS is changing quite a bit. So staying on top of that, I think, is going to be a big, big task to make sure of.”

Moline added, “My family’s just excited about the opportunity. We’re excited about the longevity of Thermopolis and being able to set up roots here and carry on our family here and continue with the community.”

Michel also said, “You can expect the same great services and everything. We’re blessed to have a great staff. We don’t do it alone.”
