Lady Cats stay busy playing trio of matches

The Lady Cat volleyball teams have been busy on the road and at home.

First up, the team traveled to Lovell. Coach Shannon Hill said “During the Lovell match I made a big lineup change in the middle of the match and put Lexi Garrison as our setter and she did a great job stepping up and adding a lot to our team.”

Lexi Overfield had 8 kills and 1 ace, Hanna Hill had 5 kills and 2 aces, Ina King added 5 kills and Jayci Basse had 8 digs.

The Lady Cats end up falling short to Lovell. Final scores were 15-25, 21-25, 20-25.

Next up the team traveled to play in Worland.

Coach Hill said “After falling short in Lovell, we made some changes, but we carried the moments of greatness to Worland and played great in games 1 and 2. We ended up losing momentum in game 3. We as a team had a discussion about getting our offense going with our 2 big middles as our momentum starters and then mixing it up from there. Ina King worked hard in the front row blocking and transitioning on and off the net to get our offense going. Dazlynn Hunt did great on defense adding 13 digs. Lexi Garrison has done a great job in steeping it up as our setter.”

Worland came out the winners with final scores of 18-25, 22-25, 11-25.

Next up was Homecoming for the Lady Cats. They hosted Wind River at home.

Coach Hill said “The whole team did great and contributed throughout the entire match.”

She added, “Freshmen beat Lovell, JV lost to Lovell and all three teams lost to Worland, but they had some tough fought games. All three teams pulled out wins vs. Wind River, so it was a great way to wrap up Homecoming week!”

Varsity Final score vs. Wind River was 25-20, 26-24, 25-21.

The Lady cats have a busy weekend with their next games right around the corner.

The Bobcat Invite is set for this Friday and Saturday. JV/Varsity will start play at 1 p.m. at home in the High School gym and will be on a rolling schedule from there with bracket play on Saturday.
