The Varsity Bobcat football team claimed a homecoming victory against Rich County, Utah for their homecoming game last Friday.
Coach Matt McPhie said, “In a back-and-forth game, Roedy Farrell scored the go-ahead touchdown with just over a minute left in the 4th quarter.”
Farrell plunged into the endzone from 2 yards out to give the Bobcats a 27-24 lead.
Owen McCumber nailed the point after and went 4 for 4 on the night for PAT’s.
Gavin Shumway had a big day for the Bobcats throwing and scoring on a 56-yard touchdown run.
Del Dukes had another 100-yard night receiving the ball and also had 7 catches for 146 yards.
Armani Dukes had 2 catches for 47 yards. Farrell had 100 yards rushing and receiving combined along with 3 touchdowns.
Defensively, the Bobcats were led by Armani Dukes and Roedy Farrell in the tackle category. Dukes had 11 tackles while Farrell added 10, including 2 tackles for loss and 3 fumble recoveries.
Zane Stam had a big interception for the team. Jessen Basse had a good night on defense pitching in 8 tackles. Chris and Ryan Arends each had 6 tackles and Mason Reese added 5 tackles for the Bobcat Defense. Logan Dafoe also had 4 tackles including 2 tackles for loss.
Coach McPhie stated “The team played great football in front of a great homecoming crowd. They overcame adversity and had answers for everything Rich County threw at them. We as a staff were very proud of the effort and execution of the team.”
The team travels to Pinedale for their upcoming game this Friday, Sept. 30.
