HSH announces wage scale retention adjustment

Scott Alwin, CEO of Hot Springs Health, announced that the Board of Directors has approved the new Wage Scale Retention Adjustment (WSRA) on August 31, 2022 for Hot Springs Health employees.

This wage restructuring will benefit Hot Springs Health employees by raising the minimum base pay to $15 per hour, while also impacting all other employees in the organization.

The increase is part of HSH’s efforts to offer competitive salaries and increase the retention of HSH’s valued healthcare professionals, and to continue providing our patients with the highest level of care.

Kevin Benson, CFO, noted “this is an investment both in the Hot Springs Health staff and the communities we serve. Increased retention is an important part of maintaining continuity of quality patient care.”

In making the decision, Alwin and the Board of Directors approached the wage restructuring as a means to both help combat increasing costs due to the current economy and inflation, but also as an opportunity to undertake an exhaustive review of every position and comparative rates throughout Wyoming and surrounding regions.

“The most valuable resource we have here at Hot Springs Health are our people,” Alwin said. “We wanted to do something to help that also aligned with our mission to partner with our community for quality health and healing - retention and maintaining great quality of care was a perfect fit.”

Linda Veylupek, Chief Human Resources Officer, added that “this will make HSH more competitive from a wage perspective and continue our objective of being the employer of choice in Hot Springs County, and throughout the Big Horn Basin.

The WSRA went into effect on August 28, 2022.
