Busy weeks ahead

We are heading into a few weeks packed with a busy schedule of events in Hot Springs County.

The Wagonhound Off-road event will be held July 29-31. See the article on page 5 of this paper for more information.

Saturday morning from 8 a.m.-noon a variety of goods will be available at the Farmers Market downtown next to Bicentennial Park.

The County Fair kicks off Saturday with the Youth Horse Show. Next week is filled with other animal shows, building exhibits, shooting events, a ranch rodeo, family fun nite, a chili cook off, the livestock auction and more. For a complete fair schedule, see page 5 of this paper.

Next weekend is packed with events such as the Pageant Days Parade, Gift of the Waters Pageant, Wyoming Discovery Days, Search and Rescue Poker Float and the Fire Hall Open House. See articles in this paper and next week’s paper for more info on these events.

The following weekend, the Demolition Derby hits the fairgrounds and Great Until 8! is offered by participating businesses.

What is one thing that all these events have in common? They are all made possible by the many volunteers who work hard to make them happen.

Volunteers freely give their time, talents and hard work to bring events to our community for the enjoyment of others.

Many of these events have been going on for several years, even decades. Some volunteers have been part of the success of these events for many of those years. As vital as experienced volunteers are, new volunteers are equally vital to each event.

If you have been looking for a way to give back to your community and get involved, volunteer work is great way to participate.

And, if you are looking for something to do, these next few weeks are packed with events so get out and enjoy!
