The 2022 election filing period is closed and there will be some strongly contested battles on the state and local level. According to the Wyoming Secretary of State 2022 Primary Election Candidate Roster, the following Republican (R) and Democrat (D) candidates have filed for office.
Locally, John R. Winter (R), Thermopolis, will be seeking re-election as State Representative for District 28, which includes Hot Springs County and areas of Park, Fremont and Big Horn counties. He will be challenged by Kimberly M. Bartlett (D), also from Thermopolis.
U.S. State Representative Liz Cheney (R), is seeking re-election. She is being challenge on the Republican ticket by Anthony Bouchard, Denton Knapp, Harriet Hagemen and Robyn M. Belinskey. Running on the Democrat ticket is Lynnette GreyBull, Meghan R. Jensen and Steve Helling.
Republican Mark Gordon is running for re-election as Wyoming Governor. Running against Gordon as Republican candidates are Brent Bien, James Scott Quick and Rex Rammell. Rex Wilde and Theresa A. Livingston are running as Democrats.
Republicans Chuck Gray, Dan Dockstader, Mark Armstrong and Tara Nethercott will be running for the office of Secretary of State. Current Secretary of State Ed Buchanan previously announced he would not run for re-election.
Kristi Racines, (R) is seeking re-election as State Auditor.
Curt Meier (R) is running for re-election as State Treasure. He will face off against Bill Gallop (R).
The current Superintendent of Public Instruction Brian Schroeder (R) will face off against Republicans Jennifer Zerba, Megan Degenfelder, Robert J. White III and Thomas Kelly and Democrat Sergio A. Maldonado, Sr. Governor Mark Gordon appointed Brian Schroeder as Wyoming’s Superintendent of Public Instruction in January. He replaced Superintendent Jillian Balow who resigned January 16 to become Superintendent of Public Instruction at the Virginia Department of Education.
