Terri Cornella has announced her intention to run for Clerk of the District Court in a letter to the Hot Springs County Republican Central Committee.
Cornella has been in the “field” off and on for more than 30 years. Born and raised in Thermopolis, Cornella attended Casper College and in the late 70s, began working for the City of Casper Police Department in the records division.
She then went on to the City of Casper Municipal Court. Cornella and her husband returned to Thermopolis, and in 1990 she was employed by Hot Springs County in the County Attorney’s Office, where she was instrumental in the development of the first Crime Victim’s Advocate program, then later became the office manager of the office.
In August of 2004, she was appointed the Deputy District Court Clerk. Cornella was sworn in as the District Court Clerk in January of 2010 replacing Linda Harris.
She believes that her past experience and years in office have proven invaluable in dealing with the challenges of the ever changing technical aspects and rules of the office.
She says she “will continue to fairly and impartially administer Wyoming laws regarding her office, while conducting the daily business of the District Court Office in a professional, courteous and efficient manner.”
