Jellis opens The 307 Pit

Stevie Ann Jellis opened The 307 Pit gym and fitness facility on April 1, located at 735 South 6th Street. They are an Official Hammer Strength Training and Life Fitness Center.

The 307 Pit is a high-quality, first-class facility with the same equipment used by professional athletes, nationally ranked colleges, and Olympic athletes. The 307 Pit is brand new, always clean and its equipment is well maintained at all times.

The facility has the only 24/7 hr access in Thermopolis, with constant coverage for your safety. Additionally, they have private off-street parking, strict cleanliness, central location, high quality supplements, and an entire facility that is handicap accessible.

Jellis welcomes any and all ages, non-competitor lifters and beginners too. Jellis said, "No one will ever be intimidated here. We pursue fitness and strength relentlessly. We are always striving to be better every day."

Regarding what inspired Jellis to open the gym, she said after she graduated from college in Sheridan, "I moved back home and I just started an eight to five job, and I could never get to the gym on time. And before they were closing or kicking me out, I was just like, so what the heck? I bought this building back in 2011 and it sat empty. So I decided, I'm going to build a gym. I slowly started chiseling at it and doing it all by hand. We tore the ceiling out, all the sheetrock, all the studs, all the walls, we air scraped the tiles off floors, took it all out. Then once I was down to that, I started ordering stuff, and here we are."

Memberships cost $45 per month plus $5 key FOB. If you are an active military, first responder, a veteran, or a senior citizen over 65, memberships are discounted by $5 every month. Kids under 18 are $35 per month but must be 16 years or older to work out.

Jellis also sells Flavor Gang sauces, spices and cereals, and other fitness foods or powders to help customers eat with low calories but not sacrifice flavor. Jellis said in a quote from her food products table, "In our country America, the majority of people are overweight, under nutritious and very unhealthy in all aspects. That should not be the case. Unfortunately, due to so many factors, it's not so simple, easy, or affordable to be healthy and change your life. Our mission is an extremely large one, yet simple. We aim to positively change the way people view and consume foods. We aim to slowly help Americans ditch pharmaceutical drugs, medications, and slowly begin to take back their lives and give them freedom."

Regarding how she feels about opening her gym, Jellis said, "I feel great. I'm excited to be able to offer the community something just brand new and exciting, welcoming and, convenient, affordable and jaw-dropping cool."
