Lucille 'Lucy' Anne (Balstad) Rathbun

Lucille "Lucy" Anne (Balstad) Rathbun passed away at home on Monday, March 22, 2022, after a long illness. She was 50 years old.

Lucy was born Lucille Anne Balstad on April 2nd, 1971, to Thomas and Dena Balstad in Thermopolis, Wyo. She was the 2nd youngest child in her family with 3 older brothers; Tom, Jeff, & Dave, and 1 younger brother, John. She lived in Thermopolis her whole life and she loved her family, friends, and community. Most of her life she worked as a waitress alongside her mother, Dena. And if you knew her during this time; you know she was the best! She would memorize many regular customer's orders and have it ready for them shortly after they walked into the restaurant! She loved her customers and her job so much!

She met her first love, Lee Rathbun, in their youth and the pair started dating in 1985. Lee and Lucy had their first child, a son, Joshua Victor on April 5, 1990. Their second child, a daughter, Jodi Lee, was born March 5, 1993. Lee and Lucy were married June 17, 2002. 

She is survived by her husband, Lee Rathbun; children, Joshua & Jodi; brothers, Jeff, Dave, & John Balstad; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Dena; estranged father, Thomas; older brother, Tom; grandmother, Lucille Wright; grandfather, Roger Wright; and her beloved dog, Squirrely.
