Tracksters open season at Pavilion

The high school Bobcat track teams opened their season with some impressive times and placings at the Wind River Track Invite in Pavilion last Saturday.

Girls results

The Lady Cats took three top ten placings in the girls 100 meter dash. Jayci Basse took second with a time of 13.70, followed by Ina King in third with a 13.73 and Dazlynn Hunt came in ninth with a time of 14.37. Other finishers include Mariah Brooks 15.50, Marriaha Haight 15.77, Alexis Garrison 16.05, Kaia Galovich 16.95 and Maggie Landon 19.84.

In the 200 meter dash, Basse finished fourth with a 28.85. Hunt finished with a time of 31.01, Aspen Brooks 31.91, Maggie Landon 35.37 and Kaia Galovich 35.87.

Hallie Martinez came in ninth in the 400 meter with a time of 1:11.25, with Joely Mounts running a 1:12.35 and Haight a 1:16.78.

Martinez finished fourth in the 800 meter with a 2:51.04.

Jayda Griffin finished ninth in the 1600 meter with a time of 6:33.94.

Lady Cat Brook Hubele had a time of 21.69 in the 100 meter hurdles.

Basse came in third in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 52.64, Garrison was ninth with a 1:03.28 followed by Hubele with a 1:04.88.

The team of Basse, King, Hunt and Martinez came in third in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:56.01.

In the field events, Mounts and M. Brooks were part of five way tie for fourth in the high jump with a 4-04.00. A. Brooks was ninth with a 4-02.00.

In the long jump, Hunt came in ninth with a 13-01.00. Haight and Griffin had a 11-00.25 and Landon a 9-07.00.

King took second in the triple jump with a distance of 31-07.00.

In the shot put, King finished tenth with a distance of 24-09.00 and Galovich had a 20-07.00.

Galovich threw for a distance of 38.06.50 in the discus.

The Lady Cats finished in a tie with Burlington for fourth place with a total of 50 points.

Boys results

Bobcats Ethan Yarrington, Ryan Arends, Chris Arends and Brody Sorenson came in first in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:53.30.

R. Arends had a time of 13.11 in the 100 meter dash, Jaye Christensen had a 13.18, C. Arends a 13.18, Jessen Basse a 13.27, Yarrington a 13.36, Sorensen a 13.78 and Mason Reese a 14.09.

In the 200 meter dash, R. Arends had a time of 26.47, Christensen a 26.58, C. Arends a 27.50 and Logan Dafoe a 27.98.

Basse finished tenth in the 400 meter with a time of 1:01.30 and Damiyan Gosnel had a time of 1:03.86.

Ethan Crow came in ninth in the 800 meter with a time of 2:28.92. Crow had a time of 5:57.56 in the 1600 meter.

In the field events, R. Arends came in eighth in the long jump with a distance of 16-03.25, Christensen finished tenth with a 16-02, Yarrington had a 15-07, Mason a 14-11, Basse a 14-11 and Gosnel a 14.05.25.

Reese came in tenth in the triple jump with a distance of 32-05.25 and Christensen had a distance of 30-10.00.

In the shot put, Sorenson threw for a distance of 28-00.00, Zane Smith a 25-07.25, Dafoe a 23-08.25 and Crow a 23-07.25.

In the discuss, C. Arends had a throw of 79-06.05, Reese a 75-10, Smith a 69-06.50 and Dafoe a 63-02.50.

The boys finished with 11 points as a team.

Although practices have continued, the Bobcats will not be competing this weekend due to spring break.
