Dr. Lane Deitchler, 62, passed away on March 7, 2022, in Augusta, Ga., at the VA Hospital where he was employed.
Born June 15, 1959, he was the son of Don and Verna Deitchler. On June 18, 1988, Lane married Betty Baker.
Lane received his Bachelor of Science in nursing at Sonoma State University, Calif., then went on to get his masters at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and finally his doctorate at the University of Alabama. Lane worked hard for his academic achievements and was proud of his education. He was described by nurses, doctors, and coworkers as 'humble, kind, and hard-working'.
In his free time, Lane enjoyed going to the gym, camping, snowmobiling, hiking, fishing, traveling, and spending time with family. He looked after the health of his entire family. His life was as big as he was!
Lane is survived by his mother, Verna Deitchler; wife, Betty Deitchler; sister, Cheryl Deitchler; brother, Scott Deitchler; sons, Donny (Christine), Daved (Bridget), and Daniel (Geri) Deitchler; daughters, Jeanette and Valerie Baker; grandchildren, Wesley, Bently, Molli, Riley, Hadin, Dylan, Devin, Mariah, Kalon, and Eleanor.
Lane will be missed so much by family and friends. A memorial service will be held in the summer.
