Thermopolis Town Council holds brief meeting

At the January 4 Thermopolis Town Council Meeting at Town Hall, they held a brief meeting. Town Engineer Anthony Barnett said that he checked some manholes on Peppermint Lane and measured the sewers. They also received some sample tests from the landfill and sent the data to the DEQ.

During codes administration, Fred Crosby reported that the addition at Family Dollar is progressing. They will be paving asphalt for additional parking.

Also, Crosby and the Council had a discussion about a willow tree in the Bicentennial Park that is half dead. They agreed to take it down and replace it with a new tree. They agreed to put the work out for bid.

Crosby also reported that there are over 60 delinquent accounts for water, sewer, and sanitation per month. This results in a surcharge. The town attorney is exploring how to address the situation.
