Lady Cats win at home against Glenrock

The Lady Bobcats varsity team took on Glenrock on home turf this past weekend walking away with the win, 45-38. 

The Lady Cats came from behind utilizing teamwork and were able to get the win.  Fans commented on the smart play the ladies showed and the constant teamwork.  The Cats looked for the assist and continued to fight from behind. 

Kamry Bowman was on fire and continued to nail her shots and relied on her teammates to ensure the win.  This team really came together on home turf to help their fans be proud. 

“Teamwork was what really stuck out and the hustle our Lady Cats showed was impeccable,” fan Jesica Quiroga expressed about watching the Lady Cats on Saturday.  

Junior Varsity Ladies also walked away with the win against Glenrock 23-8.  Defense, teamwork, and sinking the buckets all played factors in the win. 

Maggie Landon had 6 points, Ruthie Johnson 7, and Kadance Bowman with 2. 

Kiyah Oliver was at the line four times and went 6/8 for free throws along with buckets making her points toward the win 8. 

Ina King was a huge asset with her defense and keeping the opponents shots from scoring.

“The group in all worked hard and continued to fight until the end,” coach Katlin Despain expressed about Saturday’s game.

The Freshman Lady Cats played against Worland and Powell last Saturday.  Both games came up short for the girls. 

Against Worland the final score was 57-14 and Powell 57-12. 

Coach Steven Weinberger commented, “Each player played an important role in keeping the team together and finishing strong.”

He added, “The team, as a whole, worked hard and had a positive attitude throughout the entire day.” 

Against Worland, Waikele Lahoe had high score with 4 points and Hanna Hill had high score against Powell with 5 points. 

As the Lady Cats varsity and junior varsity teams return from Christmas break they will be traveling to Rawlins on January 7 for an overnight stay for the Winter Classic.  The Freshman Lady Cats will be heading to Buffalo on January 8.
