Starting off the Thanksgiving break, the 8th and 7th grade Thermopolis Middle School girls Bobcat basketball players went up against Worland.
The 8th grade A and B Cats had home court advantage and both won.
The 8th grade A team’s final score was 36-15 with Jayssie Owsley being the high scorer with 18 points.
Eighth grade B team had a very close win against Worland 19-18 with Peyton Green being the high scorer.
The 7th grade Bobcat girls A and B teams fought hard but ended up both losing their games to Worland.
On December 4, the 8th and 7th grade B teams played in the Round Robin Tournament.
The 8th grade Bobcats first game was against Lander.The girls started the first quarter slowly but were able to play aggressively and had a nine point loss 23-32.
Against Riverton, it was a close game with each player contributing to the score. The Bobcat girls ended up losing by two points in the last second. Coach Ashley Cleare said, “The girls showed tremendous growth throughout the season!”
The 7th grade Bobcat girls played against Riverton to start off the Round Robin Tournament losing to Riverton after playing a close game.
Their next game was against Powell and the 7th grade Bobcats walked away with the win. Coach Cassie Owsley was pleased with the improvement that the ladies have shown over the season.
The Bobcat Middle School Girls will be finishing up their season this Saturday with Conference. The 8th grade girls will travel to Cody and the 7th will be hosting a Conference on home court both starting at 9 a.m.
