Letamae French, 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep November 27, 2021, at the home of her daughter, Kerry, in Eagle, Nebr., where she had resided the past 2 ½ years.
Born October 15, 1931, in Waco, Neb., she was one of nine children of Miller and Inez (Valentine) Adkisson. In 1949 she graduated from Lincoln High School in Nebraska, then entered into marriage with Floyd French in June.
The couple ranched in the northeastern Colorado area for four years, then to Denver where Floyd worked. Letamae worked as a cook in several schools in Colorado. Eventually they moved to Thermopolis in 1995. A sociable woman, Letamae enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She also loved to travel.
She is survived by her children, Scot (Bobbie Jo) French, of Texas, Kerry (Lyle) Grossman, Miriam Ridolfi, Roy (Hayette) French, all of Nebraska; sister, Celesta (Dale) Jacobson of Arizona; seven grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 11 great, great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 7 siblings; and her son, John.
Graveside services will be held at Monument Hill, Wednesday, December 8 at 2 p.m. in Thermopolis.
