Middle School Girls Bobcat Basketball players took on Shoshoni last Tuesday. The 8th A girls won 52-8 with Jayssie Owsley being high scorer with 22 points
The 8th B girls won 24-20 with Charlie Slagle being high scorer with 14 points.
Continuing with their busy week of basketball the girls traveled to Riverton and Lander on Saturday. The girls 8th A team won against Riverton 34-31 with Jayssie Owsley again coming in as top scorer with 22 points.
The 8th B girls took a close loss to Riverton 14-18 with Charlie Slagle being the high scorer with 6 points.
Sadie Martinez hit a game tying shot and Jayssie Owsley was able to make the last second shot for the win in the A game.
Against Lander A and B teams lost 33-58 and 8-19.
“Riverton and Lander gave us some good competition this weekend, we saw some things we need to continue to work on,” said coach Ashley Cleare about the 8th graders.
MVP’s recognized were Kam Farrell and Jayssie Owsley.
Bobcat 7th grade girls fought hard against Shoshoni and fell in a close loss by the 7th A 14-17 and a win with 7th B 16-12 on Thursday.
Saturday 7th A & B lost to Riverton and Lander, 7th A 14-19 and B 18-19, and Lander A 10-27 and 17-28.
“Each player has shown growth game by game and they show a lot of hustle. Their low shot percentage and high turnover ratio continue to hurt them,” coach Cassie Owsley expressed about the 7th grade Bobcat team.
This week the girls have a busy schedule starting at home Tuesday, Nov. 17 the Bobcat Middle School 7th and 8th graders take on Burlington and TenSleep in Bobcat territory. Friday, Nov. 19 the girls take on Lovell with 8th girls in Lovell and 7th girls at home. On Saturday both 8th and 7th are away games, with the 8th grade girls in Cody and 7th grade girls in Powell.
