Locals start Rodeo 307 business

Belinda Moore and Donna Pennoyer have created a new business called Rodeo 307. Together, they sell a variety of products, such as tumblers, hats, stickers and other products that display their trademarked logo for Rodeo 307.

Moore said, “We’re selling rodeo merchandise, promotional merchandise, just for the love of rodeo. It is for rodeo fans, participants and for those that just want to show their Wyoming pride. It was an idea that we came up with kind of on a whim. We were working on a project that would work universally for our Ranch Rodeo and the PRCA Rodeo, and it kind of just developed from that. Donna did the design.”

The idea for the business started in a discussion in 2019, but Moore and Pennoyer didn’t really start taking action until June of this year. They had to do some research first to see if the name was trademarked and what they could do with it.

Pennoyer added, “We figure that Wyoming is rodeo country. And so we felt like the Rodeo 307 kind of embodies the spirit of Wyoming rodeo.”

Moore continued and said, “We’re going to be doing a trade booth at upcoming events that go on here at the fairgrounds. And then, of course, Donna is going to be doing a booth at the Craft Fair next weekend on November 20 at TMS.”

Their merchandise can also be found at White Horse, Shorty’s Liquor, and the Kirby Creek Mercantile. They also have a website, http://www.rodeo307.com. Their website is still in the construction stage with contact info and pictures of the merchandise. They plan to create it as a full e-commerce site after the holidays.

The feedback from customers has been positive as well. Some customers want one item of everything they sell and they can’t decide which product they want. Moore added, “They love it. It’s been very popular.” In one location they sold out of everything and asked for additional products.

Moore and Pennoyer plan to do some type of promotional work with the local rodeo organizations and want to discuss with them those ideas. They also plan to expand their merchandising business and project to go outside Hot Springs County in places such as the Cody Stampede and the Cheyenne Frontier Days.

Pennoyer added, “We’re really looking forward to meeting the people and being able to help promote the local rodeo.”
