Donna Mae Lossner passed away on Tues., Sept. 21, 2021, at her daughter and son-in-law's home, Sherry Drake and Dave O'Guin, along with her loving family by her side
Our beloved Donna was born in Douglas, Wyo., on Nov. 21, 1934. She was the second child to Dean and Nellie Esmay. In 1950 they moved the family to Denver where Donna graduated from South High in 1953. She had a lifelong loving relationship with her sister Mary and her brothers Bob and Jim.
In 1954 she met and married the love of her life, Don Lossner and they spent the next 52 years in a happy and exciting marriage. They moved all around the United States with the Air Force and they brought two sons and a daughter into the world while in the service. Donna was a committed and caring Mom who was always involved in her children's activities. After 20 years in the Air Force, Don retired, and they settled in the Denver area where Donna spent 22 years as the audio/visual professional at Lincoln High School where she was loved and respected by both staff and students. She was a member of many clubs, groups and associations where she always ended up in a leadership role because of her outgoing and upbeat personality. They lived in Denver until they both retired for a second time and moved to Thermopolis, Wyo.
After her husband's passing, Donna spent the rest of her years as an active member of the Hot Springs Senior Center and the Community Church of Thermopolis. She ate lunch every day at the center where everyone enjoyed her happy, outgoing manner as she visited and brought out the smiles of all she encountered. She enjoyed the center's activities and volunteered her time. She was also given a special award by the Thermopolis-Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce for her volunteer help at the Chamber office.
She was a loving grandmother to Logan Drake, Lindsay Lossner, Alicia Lossner and Cory Lossner. She had one great-granddaughter, Evelyn. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bob, her husband Don, and both her sons, Ron and Doug Lossner.
There will be a viewing at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home located at 5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial, Colo. 80122 on September 29 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for her friends and family. Her loved ones are planning a Celebration of Life to honor Donna and it will be at the State Park in Thermopolis next summer.
Those who wish to remember Donna in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Hot Springs County Senior Center in Thermopolis.
