As of Monday, August 30, there were 131 total confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in Hot Springs County in the last 14 days. There were 104 active cases and four deaths had been linked to the virus.
On Tuesday, August 31, Hot Springs County School District Superintendent Dustin Hunt announced the district would be moving to digital instruction beginning Sept. 1 with a plan to return to in-person instruction on Sept. 13.
The food service team handed out meals on Wednesday and will do so again on Sept. 8 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Ralph Witters Elementary loop.
There are some area businesses that have temporarily closed for short periods of time, either due to positive cases, exposure to positive cases or simply as a precautionary measure.
Visitation at Hot Springs Health is limited to ages 18 years or older, with a maximum of two visitors per day, per patient, with only one visitor in the room at a time. Each visitor can only visit once per day. OB patients have additional restrictions.
The Wyoming Pioneer Home has suspended visitations completely and has reported at least three positive cases within the facility.
Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Wellness is currently allowing outdoor visitation by appointment only with certain requirements. As of Tuesday, August 31, they currently had no positive cases of the virus within the facility.
All facilities are requiring masks and ask that you do not visit if you are showing any COVID-19 symptoms.
