Patricia Lynn "Patty" Georgius, 62, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at Hot Springs Health in Thermopolis after battling cancer.
Born November 8, 1958, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, she was one of five daughters of Maynard and Pat (Newman) Tibbitts. The family moved to Thermopolis in 1969. Patty graduated from Hot Springs County High School in 1977.
In the early 80's Patty was employed by Reda Pump doing parts inventory and later was a clerk at Bank of Thermopolis, although the title she held best was Mom and Grandma. On July 27, 1985, she married Robert W. "Bob" Georgius in Thermopolis. Patty enjoyed spending time with family and friends, rescuing stray dogs, camping, cooking, baking, and planting flowers around her home. Very outgoing, Patty made friends wherever she went. Those friends were kept for life and no matter the amount of time passed she always picked up where they left off. She always had a way to make people smile and had the gift of gab. Patty was a caregiver; she would open her arms to anyone and help with whatever was needed. In the end, Patty was cared for by those family and friends that she cared for.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Georgius, of 35 years; son, Ryan (Vivian) Georgius of Thermopolis; and daughter, Sarah (Josh) Wolfe of Casper; sisters, Jeannie (Ron) Huntley of Mayerthorpe, Alberta, Canada, Gail Jackson of Jonesboro, Ark., Joanne (Gary) Walters of Enid, Okla., and Leslie (John) Webber of Thermopolis; grandchildren; Bradleigh Georgius, Jenah Shafer, Caitlyn Shafer, Jadyn Shafer, and Cale Shafer.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Grace Wilfong, Wayne Jackson, Bob and Betty Georgius, and Brad Georgius.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Messages may be offered at www.mortfh.com.
