County clerk resigns

Hot Springs County Clerk Rose DeSeyn submitted her letter of resignation during the Tuesday Hot Springs County Commissioners meeting. DeSeyn will perform her duties until the end of the month.

DeSeyn told commissioners, “It’s really hard for me but it’s time to notify you.” The commissioners voted to approve and accept her resignation.

The commissioner must notify the GOP. Once the GOP presents a slate of candidates, the commissioners will vote to fill the position at a July 27 commissioners meeting at 9 a.m. 

DeSeyn said she anticipates the position will be filled by August.
