Youths compete in livestock judging

The 307 Wyoming Livestock Judging Series recently hosted a contest in Thermopolis.

Results received include:

Junior

Ava Dafoe, 5th in swine and 7th overall

Intermediate

Sheep/Goats: 1st Taylor Agar; Swine: 3rd Rylee Agar; Beef: 1st Taylor Agar, 5th Rylee Agar; Placings: 3rd Taylor Agar, 4th Rylee Agar; Reasons: 1st Taylor Agar, 6th Maile McCumber; Overall: 3rd Taylor Agar, 4th Rylee Agar.

Senior

Swine: 4th Lexi Overfield; Overall: 7th Hayden Overfield, 10th Owen McCumber.

Other results include:

Senior competitors placed 3rd as a team.

Intermediates placed 2nd overall and won beef and placing.

The Thermopolis youths also recently traveled to Big Piney to compete in a livestock judging contest.

"It was a late night, with lots of driving today but it was worth it. These kids just keep getting better," said Britton Van Heule.

Junior

Ava Dafoe was 2nd in swine, 1st in goats, 1st in placings, 5th in reasons/questions and high individual.

Cooper Agar competed as a junior and was 7th overall.

Intermediate

Rylee Agar was 2nd in swine, 1st in beef, 2nd in placings,1st in reasons and high individual.

Tymber Eckley was 6th overall and Taylor Agar was 7th.

"We have room for improvement, but they are making great strides. The quality of livestock UW is using for these contests is outstanding," added Van Heule.
