At the June 10 Chamber of Commerce meeting held at the HSC Museum under old business, Director Meri Ann Rush reminded the board the Pageant Day Parade is coming on August 7 with the theme “Home of the Brave” where they will honor our local heroes.
The Chamber is hosting the Demolition Derby on August 14. Rush said, “It’s coming along. It’s hard to believe it is less than two months away.”
In new business Rush presented the board election results with the four open slots. Bradyn Harvey of Kirby Creek Mercantile, Falina Hill of Gottsche Rehab Center, Lana Nicodemus of Koerwitz Michel Wright & Associates and Greg Willson of Ram’s Head Insurance were all elected.
Rush thanked the other candidates for their interest and for those who served.
Next came the elections to the executive board. The results are for President Howie Samelson, Vice President Falina Hill, Secretary Jana Oliver and for Treasurer Lana Nicodemus.
Howie Samelson for Main Street Thermopolis reported on the Brewfest. He said, “Wow! Amazing! What a small group was able to pull off.” They sold 347 tasting mugs at the event. The previous Brewfest in 2019 they sold 162. There were at least 400 people attending with families, and everyone was busy at the various booths.
In the director’s report, Rush said, “Things are going good and amazing. May picked up more activity and now the facet is full blast.” They also have 200 convention bags available and they are looking forward to the board training on June 14.
The next chamber meeting will be on July 8.
