Gottsche Therapy, Rehab and Wellness is excited to introduce their new Physical Therapists.
Jonathan Otto is a Doctor of Physical Therapy at Gottsche. Otto was born and raised in Riverton. He received his undergraduate degree in physiology and kinesthetics from the University of Wyoming and his doctorate in physical therapy (PT) from Phoenix’s Franklin Pierce University in 2016. His exposure to PT started after a rock-climbing injury where he fell and dislocated his shoulder while he was in college.
Prior to becoming a physical therapist he served in the Wyoming and Arizona National Guard and worked as a commercial pilot. Now he enjoys hunting, fishing and hiking with his wife Jaime and three kids.
Otto said, “Once I realized how truly life-changing physical therapy could be for a suffering patient, I knew I had found a career that would make a difference.”
Otto rotates his care between Thermopolis and Cody. Tuesdays and Thursdays he is in Cody. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays he is in Thermopolis. His hours are flexible but are usually open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. There are possible plans in the works for him to expand to Powell and Meeteetse.
Jean Culin is also a Doctor of Physical Therapy and is mainly located in Thermopolis three days a week, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. However, if coverage is needed, she also serves Cody and Powell.
Culin was born and raised in New Jersey and recently moved to Cody to be closer to her fiance’s family.
Culin graduated from PT school two years ago from Rutgers University and previously worked as a home health physical therapist. She especially enjoys working with the geriatric population and is certified to work with patients who have Parkinson’s Disease using movement-based treatment.
Culin said regarding her move to Wyoming from the East Coast, “It’s a big change, smaller towns, slower-paced, it’s a lot nicer, less stressful.”
Explaining what she enjoys the most being a physical therapist, Culin said, “Helping people get them back to doing the things they enjoy the most. In the home health setting one of the biggest things that I have always found would be getting them back to walking or going up and down the stairs, things like that I am really passionate about.”
