George Fredrick Wingate Jr.

George Fredrick Wingate Jr. passed away May 8, 2021. George was diagnosed with AML leukemia in April.

He was born on July 26, 1941, to George and Mary Wingate of Tonganoxie, Kan.

George loved a good cup of coffee in the morning, a rare steak and a tall whiskey in the evening. And he loved a damn good horse.

George is survived by his wife, Carol, of 35 years; daughter, Joy Mildfelt of Richmond, Kan.; sons, John Wingate of Fontana, Kan., and Nason Wingate of Ottawa, Kan.; 17 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2021, Miami County Fairgrounds, Paola, Kan., from 5-8 p.m.

A memorial has been established for Southeast Kansas Little Britches Rodeo Association. Memorials may be mailed to 13520 West 1500 Road, Centerville, Kansas 66014.
