Bobcat golfers headed into final weeks of the season

Bobcat golfers competed in Cody last week and the boys team came home with a strong second place with a total score of 348, narrowly missing first captured by the Worland Warriors with a 344.

Many of the golfers set personal records at the competition.

Hardy Johnson shot a 78 for 4th place.

Wyatt McDermott finished 5th with an 82 and an amazing score of 36 on the front nine.

Will Clark shot a 93, Kyle Roessing shot a 95, Seth Weyer shot a 97, Jonah Needham shot a 105, Spencer Calhoun shot a 108 and Tyler Chrisien shot a 140 .

For the girls, Maddie Stam shot an even 100 for 4th place.

For Thermopolis Middle School golfers, Hayden Overfield finished in 7th with a score of 112 and Lance Axtell shot a 140. For the girls, Ki Kraushaar finished 4th with a 134.

"I was very impressed with the performances of the athletes this week in Cody. It was almost like we restarted our season and the kids performed well," said coach Brandon Deromedi.

The field in Cody was slightly smaller than in Worland and that provided an opportunity to get a lot of kids on the course for tournament experience.

"Sometimes when there are a lot of teams, the number of players has to be limited to keep the tournament within reason. We saw lots of great performances, PRs and goals met.  I also made a point for the kids to continue to find that mental toughness piece when things aren't going their way. The kids are steadily improving and I couldn't be happier with where we are in our season," added Deromedi.

The team competes in Riverton this Friday.

"We have two weeks left and hopefully can come home with some nice results from the conference tournament in Cheyenne," said Deromedi.
