Clean up after yourselves

I would like to address a growing issue related to recreational target shooting on public land. Shooters need to clean up their targets, empty brass, shotshell hulls, food and beverage containers, etc.

If you have time to pack it in, you should also have time to pack it out. Also, never ever shoot glass targets unless you are on your own private land. Broken glass can injure humans, pets, livestock and wildlife not to mention flattening tires.

Lastly, exploding targets using tannerite-type products should only be used where the ground is completely bare of vegetation or maybe in the winter if there is enough snow to prevent the spread of wildlife.

An alternative target would be clay targets used for trap shooting. They are readily available, affordable and biodegradable.

By the way, I am an avid hunter and target shooter myself.
