The Bobcat wrestling team finished their regular season on a high note in Shoshoni on Saturday winning three duals.
The first dual of the day was against Greybull. “We dominated the dual with a 54-24 win with only two losses,” said coach McDermott.
Roedy Farrell, Lee Grimm, Logan Cole, Jerek Sorensen, Remington Ferree and Dalton Price all earned falls.
The second dual was with Dubois with the match of the day with #1 and #2 ranked wrestlers. Farrell, the #1 ranked wrestler at 152, had a hard fought battle and ended with a 9-8 win. Bobcats won the dual with a 45-23 score. Grimm, Sorensen, Price and Wyatt McDermott all got falls.
In the last dual of the day the Bobcats went up against Shoshoni and won with a 51-30 score. Farrell again had a tough match with the #3 ranked wrestler and controlled the entire match. “Roedy had a great weekend and showed everyone why he is ranked #1,” said coach McDermott.
Price, McDermott and Sorensen all had a great day as well pinning all three of their competitors.
Other notable Bobcat wins were Logan Cole beat the #3 wrestler at 195. Remington Ferree beat the #3 ranked wrestler at heavyweight.
This Saturday the Bobcats will host the northwest quad regionals and will mark the first tournament of the season for everyone.
“Our team is peaking at the right time and with a good week of practice hopefully we can get a good number of them to state,” said McDermott.
The top four will qualify for the state tournament which starts nest Thursday.
