Lady Cats lose close one Friday

The Lady Cats dropped a competitive contest to Rocky Mountain High School this past Friday.

“After a solid first half and quick start to the 3rd quarter, the team went cold from the field and had some defensive breakdowns,” said head coach Matt McPhie.

The result was a 46-41 defeat.

The Lady Cats led 20-14 at half, and after two quick three pointers from Kamry Bowman, the lead increased to twelve to start the 3rd quarter.

“After that, the team could only muster up another four points in the final seven minutes, as Rocky outscored the ladies 16-4 going from that point.  It was tied up heading into the 4th quarter.  The team struggled to find a rhythm shooting 4/14 from the field including 1 for 9 from 3 point range,” said McPhie.  Rocky Mountain for attempted 27 free throws, compared to the four attempts from the Bobcats.

Layne Myers led the way scoring with 13 points.  Kamry Bowman added 11 points and Julie Johnson had 10.

Sadie Burr had six rebounds in the contest while Kamry Bowman grabbed five of her own.  Bowman and Dayna Crow led the way in the steal department with three each, while Crow also dished out three assists.

The Lady Cats will travel to take on Worland during the week and then play at home against Powell on Friday.
