Bobcat Speech first at Jackson

The Bobcat Speech and Debate Team finished in first in the 1A/2A Sweepstakes as a team at the Jackson Hole Teton Invitational Virtual Tournament. It is one of the largest tournaments in the state of Wyoming so far this season with over 30 teams competing and over 450 entries.

“Hopefully it was a preview of State!  The team really stepped up and competed at a high level in all registered events,” said head coach Lyle Wiley.

Individual finishes included:

Jean-Luc Willson and Jacob Randall - 3rd in Policy Debate (Semifinalists)

Jean-Luc Willson - 5th in Extemporaneous Speaking

Jacob Randall - 10th in Extemporaneous Speaking (Semifinalist)

Elizabeth Keller - two top-three round ranks in Extemporaneous Speaking

Jean-Luc Willson - 4th in Editorial Commentary

Jacob Randall - 5th in Editorial Commentary

Logan Petty and Madeline Wagler - tie for 10th in Editorial Commentary

Elizabeth Keller and Karina Lea - 7th in Duo (Semifinalists)

Delayni Custer - Top 20, 2-2 Lincoln Douglas Debate Record

Acacia Harris - two top-three round ranks in Poetry

Dion Lahoe - two top-three round ranks in Poetry
