Governor Mark Gordon announced a change to the state’s health orders on Thursday of last week. The change will increase the permitted size of gatherings. Gordon extended the statewide mask mandate, which he first announced in December, until Feb. 14.
The order changing gathering sizes took effect on January 26 and allows indoor gatherings that incorporate social distancing and face coverings are permitted for up to 25% of capacity or 250 persons. Under previous orders, indoor gatherings were limited to a maximum of 100 people or 25% of capacity.
Outdoor gatherings of up to 50% of capacity, or a maximum of 500 people, are now allowed. Previously the number was 250.
Counties can still opt out of the requirements if local conditions move to safer levels in accordance with White House metrics. Health officials will continue to consider exemption requests for specific events on a case-by-case basis.
Wyoming’s COVID-19 vaccine distribution efforts continue, with most counties in phase 1b of the phased distribution plan. The updated health orders, along with additional information on Wyoming’s COVID-19 vaccination efforts, can be found on Wyoming’s COVID-19 website.
