Fire at the gun range

The Thermopolis Volunteer Fire Department responded to a grass fire at the Bob Milek Memorial Gun Range on Friday. Shooters at the range reported the fire when it started. Fire chief Collins reminds the public to be very careful as conditions are very dry for this time of year. Collins mentioned he knows of other fire departments around the area that have been dealing with a surprising number of grass fires in January. The Thermopolis Gun Club does not allow tracer rounds, tannerite or armor piercing rounds at the range in an effort to keep fires from happening.
