The Hot Springs County Commissioners are looking for charitable organizations that might need a helping hand right now due to COVID.
Applications from those organizations need to be in at the county clerk’s office no later than February 10.
A cover letter will need to accompany each request explaining the need for the funds and applications, along with a list of rules regarding the funding, is available at the clerk’s office.
The commissioners will make their final decision on who will be awarded the funding at their February 16 meeting. This money is coming directly from the state and is not coming out of county coffers.
The commissioners discussed the aging key fobs being used at the courthouse and the issues that are arising due to them breaking.
A few were found in a drawer by maintenance supervisor Les Culliton, but he cannot find the specific code to activate them so another route will have to be taken.
Key cards, perhaps even ones with identification photos, were decided to be the best solution, so Culliton is going to look into finding the best ones before de-activating the fobs. The cost, according to Culliton, should be around $600.
