Thermopolis resident, James Vandervort Leseberg, 85, passed away January 10, 2021, at his home.
Born January 29, 1935, in Lander, he was one of five children born to Roy and Myrtle (Vandervort) Leseberg. He attended school in Lander.
For most of his life, James was a machinist and welder until retirement.
On November 28, 1953, he married Roberta J. “Bobbi” Kier. Five children were born to this union. The couple moved to Thermopolis in 2008.
A member of St. Francis Catholic Church he was an active member of Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed woodturning, pets, family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Neal of Rock Springs, Wyo., Pamela Leseberg of Thermopolis and Diane (Corky) Ando of Powell; siblings, Bob (Laura) Leseberg of Thermopolis, Myrle Parks of Lander and Marilyn (Marvin) Hodges of Fort Collins, Colo .; eight grandchildren; and seven great, great.
James was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joseph; son, Dale; daughter, Marie; and wife, Roberta, of 64 years.
Graveside services will be held at Riverside Cemetery on Thursday, January 14 at 1 p.m. with Father Randy Oswald officiating. After the service a reception will be held at James’ home.
