Millison 'Millie' Dee Grana

Millison “Millie” Dee Grana, 87, passed away on January 4, 2021, at the Thermopolis Wellness and Rehabilitation Center.

Millison was born on February 21, 1933, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Floyd W. and Clara (Steffy) Hurt.

Millie met her husband Nicklas while working at G.E. in Savanna, Ill. They were married on March 1, 1952. As their family started to grow, Millie stayed home to raise her children. After Nicklas passed away, she became a custodian for the Clark County School District in southern Nevada.

Millie loved crafting with her daughters and liked making gifts for family and friends. She was an avid reader and encouraged her children to read when they were young. She supported higher education for everyone.

Millie and husband, Nick loved all her family, and their home was always open for a family in need. They enjoyed traveling and the highlight of each trip was getting to see her relatives. She kept in touch with all her family. She was everyone’s favorite aunt.

Millie is survived by daughters, Christie Clare Grana and Robinett Renee Grana Hourie; son, Nicholas Grana; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Naomi Ann Zerrip and Elizabeth Lee Whetstone; brothers, Eugene Hurt, Warner Henry Hurt, Orlynn Everett Hurt and Harold Ray Hurt; and first-born son Douglas Allen Grana

Cremation has taken place and a family gathering will be held later this spring in Henderson, Nevada. Online condolences may be made at http://www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com
