Michael 'Mike' Lee Farmer

Michael "Mike" Lee Farmer, 68, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at his residence in Thermopolis, Wyo.

Born in Cody, Wyo., on August 12, 1952, he was the son of Wilbur "Dean" and Mary Ann (McLean) Farmer. In high school he earned honors and scholarships in music.

He married Vivian Lee on November 22, 1975, in Thermopolis where the couple resided until moving to Casper in 1978. Mike worked in the oilfields as a Hydrogen Sulfide Consultant.  Moving to Sacramento, Calif., he worked as a Home Inspector and for American Colloid Hazmat. Returning to Wyoming in 1988, Mike established MF Construction in Powell, then later in Thermopolis. Due to a serious car accident he became disabled but was able to do odd jobs as a chef, first at Powell's Skyline Restaurant, then settled in Thermopolis in 1996 cooking at Balihoo and Pumpernicks.

Mike enjoyed fishing, hunting and searching for arrowheads. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughters, Candace (Randy) Capelle and Shauna Farmer, both of Thermopolis; grandchildren, Tricia and Jason Capelle; sister, Jeanne Williams of Pine Haven, Wyo .; sister-in-law, Rita Farmer of Worland; brother, Dewey Farmer of Washington, Utah;  brother-in-law, Jeff (Rene) Lee of Worland; sister-in-law, JoEllen Argento of Powell; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death his wife, Vivian; father, Dean; mother and father-in-laws, Harold "Buck" and Violet Lee; nephews, Dean and Philip Farmer; and brother, Ed.

Graveside memorial services will be held Monday, December 28 at 11 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery with Pastor Tony Newhouse, of First Baptist Church, officiating.  A reception will follow at 1344 Amoretti.

In lieu of flowers, a funeral fund has been established at Pinnacle Bank, PO Box 1369, 83443.
