It was rough night on Friday as the Thermopolis Bobcats fell to Cokeville during the Homecoming game, 31-6.
Coach Matt McPhie said the team struggled to finish drives all night, consequently they trailed early and were unable to mount a comeback.
Elijah Skelton led the team defensively, adding 18 defensive points to his personal stats. Logan Cole and Roedy Farrell added 14 and 10 points, respectively, to their column.
The Bobcat defense forced a fumble and got a turnover early in the game, however, that turnover didn’t add any points to the scoreboard and the team was fairly ineffective in the red zone all evening.
On the offensive side of the ball, Cole managed 74 yards and a touchdown on 15 touches while Farrell had 108 yards in 22 touches.
Gavin Shumway completed nine of 21 passes for 121 total yards.
“We have to be more assignment sound,” McPhie said, “particularly in the red zone on both sides of the ball. Urgency and discipline are key in these areas and we need improvement.
“We’ll do all we can to clean this up. We have a good football team, and I believer our best football is coming right at us.”
The team heads to Lyman this Saturday for a conference showdown at 1 p.m.
