TMS volleyball starts off well

Thermopolis Middle School volleyball is underway and the girls already have several games under their belts.

According to head coach Aimee Kay, both seventh and eighth grade teams have started off well with both A teams and the seventh grade B team winning their season opener against Worland.

“This is something that hasn’t happened in many years,” Kay said. “We added jump training to our Friday morning practice this year and the girls are working hard to get better every day.

“Coach Bears and I are excited about their progress and are pushing them to play at a higher level with each game.”

The eighth grade girls played Shoshoni on the 4th and lost two matches to one. The seventh grade one two matches to one.

Both teams played Cloud Peak last Thursday and, unfortunately, lost.

“Cloud Peak has a strong program and the girls played them tough,” Kay said.

The ladies were supposed to play Powell on Saturday but had to be cancelled. They hope they will be able to reschedule those games.

They will take on Lovell this week as well as Riverton on Saturday. In addition, the seventh grade team will play Ten Sleep at home tomorrow (Friday).

“They are working hard to play at a higher level at both seventh and eighth grade, and as coaches we are impressed with their progress,” Kay said.
