Golfers on home course Friday

Bobcat boys golf team was in Buffalo last week and had a bit of a rough go, placing fourth at the eight-team invitational.

Coach Brandon Deromedi said the Buffalo course is a difficult one, but “we saw some very bright moments and a lot of growth. Putts were faster than we were used to, but adjusted quickly.

“We found ways through bad holes and were able to refocus on the next hole. We will need all of these skills when we get to state next week. Inevitably, we will have a bad hole, but have to be able to rebound so that the entire round doesn’t slide.”

For the boys, Hardy Johnson placed first at the tourney with a 71. Next up was a tie for 14th between Will Clark and Seth Weyer, both shooting a 96. Lee Grimm came in at 18th with a 101, followed by Hadley Johnson in 19th place with a 103. Owen McCumber rounded things out in 27th, shooting a 121 for the day.

Maddie Stam held her own on the tough course, shooting a 111, which put her in 11th place.

The Cats will be at home this Friday starting at 11 a.m.
