As a prelude to the start of the football season, the Thermopolis Bobcats traveled to Worland on Saturday for a scrimmage.
Head coach Matt McPhie said he felt the boys did an “OK” job, but they lacked some execution and there are a few things they need to clean up.
“Our guards on offense, Adley Coyne and Eli McCumber did a nice job for us,” McPhie said. “They are playing well and we expect them to improve each week.”
McPhie also had praise for Wyatt McDermott who did a nice job in the quarterback slot, completing six of his eight passes.
“Defensively the team looked pretty good most of the afternoon,” coach said. “Roedy Farrell and Jesse Skelton led the way for the defense.
“We need to fly around a bit more on defense. I thought our execution in the secondary was good most of the day, but we need more bodies flying to the ball.
“We’ll address that this week and find some guys who can give us that.”
