Game and Fish, State Parks to comment at Thursday meeting

The Joint Travel, Recreation, Wildlife and Cultural Resources Committee is meeting Thursday, July 16 at the Hot Springs County Annex building to hear from Wyoming Game and Fish regarding the effect the pandemic has hand on fishing and hunting license sales as well as State Parks and Cultural Resources with further information on its management of state campgrounds and facilities.

There will also be an update on Hot Springs State Park and progress on the current concessionaire contracts.

In addition, they will consider draft bills regarding COVID-19 tourism sector assistance and civil immunity and liability in relation to declared public health emergencies.

The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department first on the agenda.

At 10:15 a.m. The State Parks and Cultural Resources portion will begin. A portion of their morning session will include time for public comment.

Lunch will be from noon until 1:30 p.m. when the State Parks will again take public comment.

At 4 p.m. the committee will be touring the concessionaires. The public is not invited to the tour, however may attend any portion of the meeting at the Annex.

Meetings will continue on Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. with the Wyoming Gaming Commission and the Wyoming office of Tourism at 9:35 a.m. Both sessions will allow for public comment.

During the 10:50 a.m. session they will be considering relief legislation for the tourism sector due to COVID-19 and after lunch, at 1 p.m. they will be discussing draft bills and taking public comment in regards to civil immunity and liability issues.
