Our view - Bad data

Nobody saw this coming.

A world-wide pandemic, yes, a lot of people saw that coming.

But our world, so immersed in the ability to collect and distribute data, is now being ruled by that data.

For some, the data they consider accurate, is sadly not. People are relentlessly sharing inaccurate click bait data on social media sites and over coffee or drinks with their friends.

There are some people who are not interested in following data and numbers.

If you are one who wants to know the latest numbers and have accurate data then dive into sources like Johns Hopkins and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

Visit Johns Hopkins website and you’ll find daily reporting on the total number of cases in the U.S. (reported every minute by someone in electronic media) but with vital context: the number of people being tested daily and more importantly, the percentage of positive tests. Visit the CDC website for straight forward numbers for the U.S. and each state.

Inaccurate or incomplete data numbers being thrown out by sources that are not reputable is causing even more panic in an already panicking society.

The deadly virus, which has dealt a horrific blow to our at-risk population, has also placed a terrible weight on the human psyche.
