The Wyoming Department of Transportation is continuing with the changes to corners along Sixth Street and hope to have Phase I completed next week.
The project includes tearing out the corners on each block and then rebuilding them to be ADA compliant.
This week, they have been running on a skeleton crew as many of the workers had to leave for Sheridan for a short project in that area, but even with fewer people on the job they have tied up a lot of loose ends this week.
Starting next week they will be starting demo again and pouring the corners at Pizza Hut and McDonalds.
The entire project is budgeted at $3.3 million and will include grading, milling the asphalt pavement and re-paving of 2.6 miles of highway from the Department of Transportation building to the National Guard Armory on the north side of town.
Prime contractor for the project is McGarvin-Moberly Construction of Worland.
The project itself is part of a multi-year plan for road rehabilitation across the state. McGarvin-Moberly was awarded the contract for this portion of the project last November.
Completion of the whole project, including the re-paving portion is expected to be finished by June 30 of next year.
The public is welcome to attend informal meetings each Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the corner of Sixth and Broadway if they have any questions regarding the work.
