Bonnie Gay McCoy, 67, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital after a period of declining health.
Born June 10, 1952, in Thermopolis, Wyo., she was one of four daughters born to Floyd and Colleen (Artly) Lawrence. Growing up Bonnie was outgoing and a tomboy, always loved being with her dad and doing whatever he was doing. She was a very independent woman. Bonnie attended high school in Thermopolis and Shoshoni then acquired an Associate Degree. She went to cosmetology school and was a hairdresser for many years.
She married Chuck McCoy in Shoshoni, Wyo., in 2009. She was a correctional officer for the State of Wyoming in Fremont County, she also served in Pinal County Arizona. When she retired to Arizona, she worked at an elementary school and loved being around the kids. Bonnie enjoyed reading and telling stories about her jobs.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Humphreys of Thermopolis and his fiancé, Jessica Powell; sister and brother in law, Jerri and Ace Redman of Gillette; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2014; daughter, Brenda McVean, in 2007; and sisters, Vicki Lewis and Judy Adcock.
