Attorney joins Messenger Law Firm

The Messenger Law Firm has recently hired a new attorney, Marshall Keller, a former Navy Seal who also has a background in the mining industry.

Keller recently passed the bar exam from the University of Wyoming College of Law. He took his exam on February 24. He spent two-and-a-half years at law school preparing for his law license.

He will mostly focus on civil litigation and take on some defense work as well. The Court has already talked to him about taking some court appointments and doing work there.

As far as what motivates him to practice law, Keller said, "I had a lot of things happen in my life that made me realize that my purpose is better serving. I enjoy serving other people more so than doing things in the corporate world. I worked in the mining industry for quite a while and it just doesn't fit me. I would much rather be doing something of service to people who need help."

Keller has lived in quite a few different places. His father was also in the Navy. Keller is originally from Montana and when he was a kid, he moved to Oregon and then back to Montana. Later he joined the Navy and spent time in California. Then he worked in the mines in Nevada and in Wyoming.

With his Navy Seal background, he enjoys taking on challenges or anything that is competitive. He said he has a passion to take on issues that deal with property rights.

Keller was sworn in by Fifth Judicial District Court Judge Friday on the Hot Springs County Courthouse steps.
