Your source for news in Hot Springs County
For those who have recently been laid off due to the pandemic, there is now a Hot Springs County Job Board with local job leads and resource links. The link is on the tourism website, http://www.thermopolis.com, and will be updated as new information is sent in. The link is also on the Hot Springs County Travel & Tourism Facebook page.
Nine other counties are also participating with the local job boards to help workers displaced by the COVID-19 crisis. The boards have been a way for tourism organizations, chambers and economic development organizations to provide a needed service for their local citizens in terms of available jobs and other valuable resources.
Some areas of the economy are adding jobs at the moment such as retail stores and health care so this is an attempt to match up available workers with these positions.
Darren Rudloff of Rudloff Solutions began the project in Cheyenne, “We started the Cheyenne jobs page to help our hospitality workers who were quickly laid off due to the coronavirus crisis. Traffic to the site exploded, so we offered it to other counties as well. The job boards give local economic development organizations a way to assist their constituencies in a positive way.”
“We see the Hot Springs job board as a way to not just aid our workers and businesses, but also to keep our county’s tourism industry as healthy as possible during these difficult times,” commented Jackie Dorothy, Hot Springs County Tourism Director. “It serves as a landing page for not only job opportunities but for additional resources displaced workers might not know of.”
These additional resources include direct links to the Food Resources from the First Lady’s WY Hunger Initiative, the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund and Health Insurance links.
The job board will continue to be updated as information is received. If you have a job that you would like posted or a resource, please email the listing to either Rudloff at darren@rudloffsolutions.com or Dorothy at tourism@thermopolis.com.
