Weeks running for Senate seat

With the announcement from District 20 Wyoming State Senator Wyatt Agar that he will not be seeking reelection this year, Linda Weeks has put her name in as a candidate to replace him.

"I have never aspired to be a candidate and have spent a great deal of time considering whether I should run," Weeks said. "But after 12 years of helping behind the scenes in the political arena, it's time for me to step up to serve the State of Wyoming, and most importantly, the constituents of District 20.

"After many years of visiting, my husband Charlie and I fulfilled our dreams and moved to Wyoming. We feel blessed to live in a beautiful area with wonderful people, with whom we have built life-long friendships and are surrounded with a flourishing community of good folks.

"We love Wyoming and it's time to give back. I am a proud resident of the district and Wyatt will leave big shoes to fill, but I feel that I am up for the challenge."

Weeks works for RT Communications in Worland as Marketing and Sales Supervisor, working daily in many of the communities in District 20. She has over 35 years of retail marketing and business experience working as the Director of Marketing for large retail organizations.

In those positions, Weeks has managed both small and large teams of people and handled very large budgets.

As for her politics, Weeks has served as the second Vice Chair of a county GOP and as Grassroots Co-Chair for Americans for Prosperity where she lobbied for low taxes and fiscal responsibility.

She has also volunteered on many congressional campaigns, knocking on doors and providing marketing support in order to help conservative candidates get elected to Congress.

Senator Agar has endorsed Weeks in the election saying, "I have had the opportunity to work and consult with Linda on several occasions. I have found Linda to be a tireless and effective advocate for District 20 and the State of Wyoming. Linda understands the challenges of rural communities and is a constant champion for small business, agriculture, and public lands.

"I believe Linda Weeks is an effective conservative leader and deserves your support."
