Hot Springs County 4-H will hold a Dessert Auction on Saturday, March 14 at 6 p.m. at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds for free. There will be a chili or soup dinner along a live and silent auction to follow.
The money raised will go towards the general fund for 4-H for scholarships, camp, and to make sure the students have equipment for projects. The funds have helped supply materials for sports fishing projects, food projects and sewing projects. Also, they helped kids receive scholarships for fitting and showing at animal clinics.
Vicki Nichols of the Extension office said: “The anticipation is high as participants look forward to it year after year.” Regarding the number of different desserts possible Nichols added, “The sky is the limit, We ask each member to bring a dessert, for each family member. The fancier desserts are for the live auction. The others on the silent. We have 123 kids currently enrolled in 4-H, so you can imagine the potential with that many desserts.”
